WNHL cares about Community Cares! Super Sunday #2 a big hit with players and fans!

They don’t call them Super Sundays because we are just out there having fun playing hockey at the Meridian Centre in Downtown St.Catharines! We call the Super Sundays because our WNHL Athletes, fans, friends and relatives raise money for a local charity. The Crown Room Kings topped the Rose City Hockey Club 3-1 and both teams raised $1650.00 for Community Care of St.Catharines and Thorold. Amazing work to all that donated and our sponsors Meridian Centre and Merchant Ale House for making it happen! See you November 26th for our next Super Sunday Sunday featuring Pelham Effinghams and Townline Tunnelers at 5pm.

Super Sunday #1 – Big Time Fun and Fundraising

WNHL Super Sunday did it again! Most importantly, our WNHL athletes, fans, and sponsors who help donate. The Merritt Islanders and Atlas Steelers raised $1760 for McMaster Children’s Hospital. Thank you to Chris Paco for the photos and video work, Willard from the announcing and the Merchant Ale House for hosting us after. Look to our next Super Sunday on November 5th 2023, featuring the Kings vs the Rose City Hockey Club at 5pm back at the Meridian Centre.

The Draft for 2023-2024 is Complete!

Big changes for the rosters of the mighty eight teams of the WNHL after this year’s draft at the Rex Hotel. Rookie GM Phil Busby fried some brains by taking Ryan Rumsby in the 2nd round, the earliest a goalie has been selected in WNHL History. That opened up chaos as goalies started to go and players like Chris Woods ended up on the Legends after a long stay with the Tunnelers and rookie stand outs like Chewy ended up on Crown Room Kings. September 6th is opening night and we will see how it all shakes out for another season of WNHL magic. Check out new hype video here
